Why I believe in Collaborative Divorce?
If you want to have a nasty divorce and make your spouse pay just stop reading, go to google, and type in the following:
“I would love to spend an obscene amount of money to fight my spouse on every issue to make them pay for what they did only to realize a year from now when my children hate both of us and are in therapy and I am in therapy because I can’t have a normal relationship because of the emotional damage from the divorce process, and that the cost of the divorce for ONLY my side could have put my children through college will I truly regret this decision for the rest of my life”
Truthfully, the collaborative divorce process can help you overcome the above mentioned issues.
Collaborative divorce will allow you:
- To keep your divorce proceeding private
- To minimize the emotional and financial toll on your family
- To maintain respectful and coordinated post-divorce parenting
- To preserve your business and investment interests
Through the use of unique and interest based options that would not be available in a traditional divorce.
A great source of information for collaborative divorce is The Collaborative Law Institute of Texas. Also check out my blog, The Council of Collaborative Law blog, and Tracy Stewart’s blog.
